DYE FIXING AGENT

(ALTAFIX-D)

ALTAFIX-D is a cationic Dye Fixing Agent, used as a fixing agent for reactive and direct dyestuff on cellulose fiber. It also improves wet fastness of dyeing with reactive and direct dyestuffs.

Applications:

ALTAFIX-D is transparent slight yellowish liquid and is soluble in water in all proportions and is cationic in nature. It is an excellent Dye Fixing Agent, which gives fabric fastness to light and washing.

It is recommended to keep the bath slightly acidic by the addition of acetic acid as the activity of ALTAFIX-D decreases in alkaline bath. The dyed material is treated in Jigger containing 2 to 5 gms/1 of ALTAFIX-D at room temperature for 25 to 30 minutes (twice) with materials to liquid ratio of 1:3 to 1:5. It does not cause any significant change in the shade.

This exhaustion or padding technique with the use of ALTAFIX-D improves washing fastness of the fabric.
